Who said the default setting of every woman is to wear a dress or a skirt? What does it mean to dress more lady like? I’ve seen nowadays men who feel comfortable in dresses and skirts and this is what embracing diversity is all about. But what do women really want? What does crossdressing in modern day look and feel like?
Am sure as you’ve scrolled down the internet, you’ve probably come across posts of women who slay in men’s clothing and look dapper and dope in them or even come across them down the streets. Am not a fortune teller, but I know one out of your group of friends dresses in some sort of tomboyish look or maybe you are that one friend that am talking about.
Years back and even today women are still taunted for what they choose to wear by men. Some men even go to an extent of stripping ladies publicly. Then when the ladies decide to wear the same clothes you men wear but with a little bit of more style because let’s face it, we women are fashion killers you get irritated and start hurling insults at us.
People, men in particular need to understand that it’s not a matter of copying what you wear. It’s a matter of crossdressing in a way that we are comfortable in and you have a problem with that?
Makena Njeri, a well-known celebrity who is a former Tahidi High actress, and Fena Gitu an artiste have been killing it on their Instagram pages with their meticulous sense of fashion. This two remarkable lasses make sure that before they step out, they don’t disappoint.
This apparently doesn’t sit well with most men. Why? It’s pretty simple and clear that men feel threatened by the likes of Makena and Fena.
Upon close scrutiny of some of the comments from both their handles I found that at least one to three men felt obligated to write some crappy comments
about this beautiful ladies sense of fashion.
One of comment read “end month bado utanyesha” which translates to ‘You’ll still have your periods at the end of the month. I was confused at first when I saw the comment. I mean where does the connection come between a woman posting a picture on her Instagram slaying in a trouser and shirt got to do with her monthly cycle? The audacity of such men who write comments like these is simply beyond me.
Lastly, men need to chill out and stop feeling threatened by whatever women choose to wear. A woman should wear anything she wants without the society prejudice. PERIOD!
